French Prime Minister Michel Barnier is in the final stages of forming his government and will hold “final consultations” on Thursday, his office said.

On Thursday morning, Barnier met with the president of the National Assembly, Yaelle Brun-Bevy, who belongs to the president’s camp, and then with the president of the Senate, Gérard Larcher, who, like the prime minister, belongs to the Republicans.
