A technical outage has affected computer systems and critical facilities around the world, with airlines, airports, banks and media companies experiencing sudden disruptions that have affected the daily lives of millions of people.
The problem began at 5.56pm local time and affected several customer systems in the central United States, Microsoft said.
Spain said all its airports were experiencing technical problems, and Berlin airport authorities said air traffic at the airport had been temporarily suspended due to a computer glitch.
Australia’s ABC reported that the disruption affected banks, airports, supermarkets and businesses in Australia and around the world.
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that computers and servers were down at the Ministry of Health, Sheba Hospital and the Clalit Patient Fund.
Britain’s medical system was also disrupted by problems with business systems, and the London Stock Exchange joined banks and airlines in announcing the technical glitch
