This morning, Monday 5 August 2024, Tunisian President Kais Saied went to the headquarters of the Electoral Commission in Tunis, where he submitted his candidacy file for the presidential elections to be held on 6 October 2024.

On Monday, 29 July 2024, the Electoral Commission opened the period of accepting candidacies for those wishing to run for the presidential elections, which will last until 6 August.

As of this morning, the Election Commission had received five applications.

On 11 August, the Election Commission will announce the final list of candidates for the upcoming presidential elections.
