The Financial Action Task Force includes Lebanon in its gray list

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) announced on Friday the inclusion of Lebanon in its gray list of countries that require increased scrutiny of their financial transactions, in light of the difficult conditions the country is facing due to the Israeli aggression.
In this context, the group, which is based in Paris, also included Algeria, Angola, and Ivory Coast in the list.
The inclusion of Lebanon in the gray list is expected to further reduce investments in the country, which may negatively impact the relationship between Lebanese banks and the global financial system.
For her part, the current president of the organization, Elissa de Anda Madrazo, indicated that this inclusion is not punitive but is part of supporting countries in developing plans for improvements, according to foreign media.
