A fire broke out at a retirement home in the Zaragoza region of northeastern Spain on Friday morning, killing ten people and injuring others, two of whom are in critical condition.

According to local authorities, the fire broke out at the Jardines de Villafranca nursing home in the town of Villafranca de Ebro, about 20 minutes from the city of Zaragoza.

There were 82 people in the home at the time of the fire, including residents, nurses and support staff. The total number of casualties is not yet known and two people are in critical condition in hospital.
