The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported on Monday that 92% of the residential units in Gaza were destroyed or damaged due to the war with Hamas, with 436,000 housing units affected, 160,000 of which were destroyed and 276,000 severely or partially damaged.
In addition, more than 1.8 million people are in urgent need of shelter and basic household supplies. Approximately 90% of Gaza’s population has been displaced, with many forced to move repeatedly.
With the destruction of many essential buildings such as homes, schools, and hospitals, health and environmental services have deteriorated significantly, making the situation even more difficult for the population.
