China Engages 5.2 Million Volunteers in Science and Technology to Boost Innovation

The China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) announced that the country has registered over 5.2 million volunteers on various platforms dedicated to science and technology volunteer services, highlighting the vitality of this sector.

Additionally, more than 110,000 volunteer service teams operate nationwide, conducting over 300,000 activities annually. These initiatives range from scientific and technical consulting to education, public outreach, social services, and even free clinical treatments.

China has also witnessed a remarkable growth in science and technology museums, increasing from 92 museums in 2015 to 409 in 2024, averaging an annual addition of 35 new institutions.
