Medical sources in Egypt reported on Monday that 10 bodies were found washed up on the beach in Matrouh province in the northwest of the country.
The sources confirmed that the victims were on a boat carrying migrants that set off from a beach east of Libya, specifically from areas between Al-Masaid and Derna, known for human smuggling activities.
Among the victims were a Libyan citizen and a Sudanese, while the other eight bodies belonged to Egyptian citizens from Asyut governorate.
