Twelve people were killed, and 57 others went missing after two passenger boats sank following a landslide on the banks of the Ucayali River in the Amazon region, according to local media.
Authorities said the boats were docked at the port of Iparia when the collapse—caused by river erosion—occurred.
The Ministry of Health reported that 20 injured individuals were transported for treatment, while rescue teams found 18 survivors in good condition.
Search operations continue in an area that is difficult to access due to dense terrain.
