19 Countries, Arab League and OIC Condemn Israeli Measures in West Bank

Foreign ministers of 19 countries, joined by the secretaries-general of the Arab League and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, condemned what they described as recent Israeli decisions aimed at expanding “illegal” control over the occupied West Bank.

In a joint statement, the ministers from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, France, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Egypt, Jordan, Luxembourg, Norway, Palestine, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Turkey said Israeli measures, including reclassifying Palestinian land as “state land” and accelerating settlement activity, constituted a “flagrant violation” of international law, U.N. Security Council resolutions and the 2024 advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice.

The ministers warned that the steps formed part of a “clear path” toward altering facts on the ground and advancing an unacceptable de facto annexation of Palestinian territory, adding that such policies undermine peace efforts and regional stability.

The statement also referred to potential implications for international initiatives, including a “20-point plan” related to Gaza.

There was no immediate comment from the Israeli government.
