To support public health efforts against the spread of the Coronavirus in Kairouan, the military health services set up a field hospital in mid-June 2021 for the residents.

In the field hospital, there is a triage unit, a virus screening unit, and 14 equipped intensive care beds, with 8 of them located in the covered hall. In addition, we have 8 oxygen beds available and a fully-equipped military ambulance on-site.

The team of military medical and paramedical staff has reinforced the public health field hospital.
