Like the 2021 edition in Cameroon, the upcoming continental tournament “CAN 2023” will take place in six cities and include 24 national teams.
Six football stadiums—Alasane Ouattara, Felix Houphouet-Boigny, Charles Konan Banny, Stade de la Paix, Amadou Gon Coulibaly, and Laurent Pokou—will host the matches.
Each of the six groups consists of four teams. The top four teams that place third and the top two teams from each group move on.
Each team can now register 27 players, one fewer than previously, per the CAF amendments.
The CAF made it clear that only 23 players from the 27-player squad could be chosen for each match during the AFCON finals.
95 television networks have acquired the right to broadcast the AFCON competition, as reported by the Commercial Sector of the African Football Confederation.
