State of Emergency Declared in Ecuador Following Escape of Most Dangerous Criminal

Daniel Noboa, the president of Ecuador, issued statewide declaration of emergency on Tuesday in response to the jail break of Jose Adolfo Masis, the leader of the most deadly criminal organization in the nation.

Through an Instagram post, the president of Ecuador declared, “A decree declaring state of emergency has been issued to provide full political and legal support to the armed forces during their operations.”
Remember that after threatening to kill a presidential candidate, the gang leader who had escaped from prison and served 13 years was moved in late 2023 to a different prison under heavy security.
