A video on the Guinean presidency’s Facebook page claims that the head of the country’s ruling military council has been dissolving the constituted government since July 2022. This happened on February 20, 2024, today.

“The government has been dissolved,” declared military council spokeswoman General Amara Camara. “Ministry directors, secretaries-general, and their deputies will take charge of affairs until a new government is formed”.

About twenty soldiers, some with masks and weapons, were gathered around Camara in military garb.

A date for the announcement of the new administration was not given by the spokeswoman.
