The European Union decided on Tuesday to extend the current sanctions imposed on the Syrian regime for another year.
The restrictive measures were imposed due to violations against the civilian population in Syria, the EU Council said in a statement.
They will last until 1 June 2025.
The EU also updated the list of sanctioned individuals and entities to include 86 Bodies and 316 individuals subject to a travel ban and a freeze on financial and real estate assets.
The sanctions also include an oil embargo, restrictions on certain investments, freezing the assets of the Syrian Central Bank in the EU, and restricting the import of equipment or technologies used for surveillance.
