Nearly 100 million Mexican voters go to the polls in Mexico on Sunday to elect a president.
Two women are competing for the presidency of the state for the first time in the history of Mexico, as the ruling party ‘Morena’ nominated the former mayor of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, while the opposition front chose Senator Suchel Galvez as a candidate for the post of president of the country.
In parallel with the presidential elections, parliamentary and municipal elections will be held in Mexico.
The country has seen as many as 37 assassinations and murders of candidates in the elections.
