Israel releases Aziz Dweik, speaker of the dissolved Palestinian Legislative Council

Israeli authorities on Thursday released the speaker of the dissolved Palestinian Legislative Council, Aziz Dweik, who had been detained since 17 October last year.
Eyewitnesses said the Israeli authorities released Dweik at the Dhahiriya military checkpoint in the southern West Bank city of Hebron.
Dweik was arrested last October and given a six-month administrative detention order.
He served his full sentence.
Palestinian sources confirmed that Aziz Dweik suffered a health crisis in Israeli prisons some time ago.
Dweik headed the Legislative Council since Hamas won the majority of seats in the 2006 parliamentary elections until

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas dissolved it in
2018.
