The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces published the final report of the investigation into the helicopter crash of former Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his companions on Sunday.
The report comes after a comprehensive review of all documents and procedures related to the maintenance and operation of the helicopter, according to Tasnim International News Agency.
The report revealed that the helicopter followed the specified path without deviation. Inspections of the remaining parts and systems also showed that there were no defects affecting the helicopter’s crash.
The possibility that the helicopter was targeted by offensive or defensive systems, magnetic effects, or lasers was also investigated, and these hypotheses were ruled out. The report explained that the main cause of the accident was “complex weather conditions”, with “a thick mass of fog” causing the helicopter to crash into a mountain.
