Unidentified gunmen assassinated Abdul Rahman Milad, the commander of the Naval Military College camp in Tripoli, with live bullets on Sunday in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.
A security source told foreign media that “gunmen intercepted the car of Major Abdul Rahman al-Bidja in the city of Janzour (the western suburb of Tripoli) and shot him with their automatic rifles”.
In the same context, the head of the High State Council, Khaled al-Mishri, mourned Major Abdel Rahman Milad on his official Facebook page.
In June 2018, Abdulrahman Milad was named in a Security Council report as “the leader of the most dangerous human smuggling gang in Libya, implicated in torturing migrants and committing human rights violations.”
An Interpol arrest warrant has been issued for him.
