Putin arrives in Mongolia for first foreign visit despite international arrest warrant

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Mongolia on Monday for his first foreign visit since the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for him.

The ICC and Ukrainian authorities have asked Mongolia, a member of the court, to arrest Putin, who is suspected of illegally deporting Ukrainian children to Russia, but the Kremlin has indicated that it has no concerns about the case, according to AFP.

The Kremlin had earlier announced that Putin’s visit to Mongolia was at the invitation of Mongolian President Okhna Khurshukh to attend a military ceremony.
