The Democratic Republic of Congo received its first 100,000 doses of monkeypox vaccine on Thursday, following a record number of cases.
More than 17,500 cases and 629 deaths have been recorded in the country since the beginning of the year, and the virus is now present in at least 13 African countries.

The African Union’s health watchdog confirmed that the first shipment of about 100,000 doses of Mbox vaccines will arrive in the DRC on Thursday, with a total of 200,000 doses expected to arrive this week.
