Thirty-four MPs in the Tunisian parliament on Friday introduced a bill to strip the Administrative Court of its jurisdiction over electoral disputes.

Under the bill, which they called for urgent consideration, ordinary appeal courts would hear electoral disputes challenging the decisions of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) instead of the administrative court.
The move comes just weeks before the presidential election scheduled for 6 October.
