China launched a Smart Dragon-3 carrier rocket from the sea near the city of Haiyang in the eastern province of Shandong on Tuesday, sending eight satellites into orbit.

The commercial rocket carried the Tianyi-41 satellite and other satellites, Xinhua news agency reported.

The launch was carried out by the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre.
