Floods in low-lying areas of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, have killed around 100 people, according to police, following heavy monsoon rains on Sunday.
Disasters linked to rainfall are common in South Asia during the monsoon season from June to September, but experts warn that climate change is increasing their severity.
Since Friday, water has inundated large areas of Nepal, leading authorities to warn of potential flash floods in several rivers.
Additionally, all domestic flights from Kathmandu have been canceled since Friday evening, affecting over 150 departing flights.
