Seventeen people have been killed in flooding caused by Hurricane John, which hit the Acapulco region on Mexico’s Pacific coast.
According to officials, more than three feet (95 centimeters) of rain fell in four or five days, about 80 percent of the annual rainfall.
The rains caused landslides, collapsing homes, and cutting off roads in the surrounding mountainous areas.
