Commercial sources, according to foreign media, reported that Algeria has excluded French companies from a tender for wheat imports this week, stipulating that the bids should not include French-origin wheat.
This move comes amid escalating diplomatic tensions between the two countries and reflects a previous dispute that occurred three years ago, when France was excluded from Algerian wheat tenders for several months.
These developments also highlight the dominance of Black Sea supplies, led by Russian wheat, in Algeria’s large import market.
