North Korea blows up roads on its territory that linked it to the South.. Seoul responds with gunfire

North Korea has blown up roads that linked it to South Korea, to express anger at a move it claims the Seoul government took when it sent drones to Pyongyang.

While North Korean leader Kim Jong Un threatens to completely sever ties with its southern neighbor, observers do not believe that an escalation is looming.

North Korea on Tuesday blew up the northern section of unused roads that once linked it to the South.

The two rival countries exchanged threats days after the North claimed that the South had sent drones three times this month to fly over the capital, Pyongyang, and drop propaganda leaflets, and threatened to respond with force if this happened again.

South Korea refused to confirm this and warned that its northern neighbor would face the end of its regime if it threatened the safety of southern citizens.

The move to destroy the roads is seen as confirmation that there is growing anger in North Korea against the conservative government in South Korea.
