The Egyptian national football team qualified on Tuesday for the 2025 African Cup of Nations, scheduled to be held in Morocco, by defeating its Mauritanian counterpart in Nouakchott with a rare goal by its player Mohamed Adel.

The first half of the match, which was held at Sheikh Ould Bedia Stadium in Mauritania in the fourth round of Group Three of the qualifiers for the 2025 African Cup of Nations, ended in a goalless draw.

Substitute Ibrahim Adel, the Pyramids player, scored the winning goal for the Egyptian national team with a long-range shot before the middle of the field, which goalkeeper Mamadou Diop, who was ahead of his goal, failed to stop, and it entered the net in the 86th minute.
