Paris Opera closes its theaters for two years for renovation work

The Paris National Opera announced that it will begin a renovation project for the “Palais Garnier” and “Opéra Bastille” in mid-2027, which will result in the closure of each venue for two years.
The work at the “Palais Garnier” will commence in the summer of 2027, focusing on renewing equipment and the stage. This year also marks the 150th anniversary of the theater, which has been classified as a “historical monument” since 1923.
