A report from the Moroccan Ministry of Interior for the fiscal year 2024 revealed that specialized agencies in combating human trafficking dismantled 210 criminal networks and thwarted 48,963 attempts to smuggle migrants during the first nine months of the current year.
The report, presented to Parliament, emphasized that the implemented security strategy yielded positive results in addressing this phenomenon.
Additionally, the Royal Moroccan Navy rescued 14,260 individuals from drowning while attempting to cross the Mediterranean Sea during the same period.
The ministry also worked to protect victims of smuggling networks by providing assistance and encouraging voluntary return, with 4,388 migrants repatriated voluntarily in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration.
