Bolivia’s constitutional court has ruled that former President Evo Morales is barred from running for elected office, preventing him from contesting next year’s presidential election.

The ruling, announced on Friday, reaffirms a 2023 court order stating that a president cannot serve more than two terms, whether consecutive or not, and cannot extend it to a third term.
