The Swedish site “Nordic Monitor” reported an increase in the number of Turkish forces in Libya to around 3,000 soldiers, as part of Ankara’s efforts to expand its military and economic influence in the country.
For the past five years, Turkish troops have been stationed in several Libyan areas, such as Tajoura and Al-Khums, as well as in major air bases like Al-Watiya and Misrata.
The Turkish military presence is estimated to include over 2,000 soldiers, along with hundreds of contractors from the Turkish company “SADAT,” and around 50 Turkish intelligence agents.
