The 47th edition of the Kuwait International Book Fair launched on Wednesday under the theme “The World in a Book,” with the participation of 544 publishing houses from 31 countries, including 19 Arab nations and 12 foreign ones.
The fair, which will run until November 30th at the Kuwait International Fairgrounds in Mishref, saw the attendance of Minister of Information and Culture Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Jordanian Minister of Culture Mustafa Al-Rawashdeh, and the Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters Dr. Mohamed Al-Jassar, along with numerous writers and intellectuals.
Jordan has been chosen as the guest of honor for this year’s fair. The event’s program includes around 90 cultural activities, ranging from seminars and discussion panels to training workshops, held across three platforms: “Cultural Arcade,” “Cultural Café,” and “Author and Book.”
