The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) announced that the Syrian Army has expanded the security zone around the city of Hama by approximately 20 kilometers. This was achieved after neutralizing militants and destroying their equipment in a series of operations.
Following a counteroffensive launched shortly after midnight on Tuesday-Wednesday, the army regained control of several areas previously held by opposition forces near Hama.
SANA highlighted that military operations are ongoing, targeting opposition positions and movements in the northern countryside of Hama.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and allied opposition factions failed to capture Jabal Zayn al-Abidin, a strategic area near Hama, despite their attempts.
