The Taiwanese government reported today, Monday, that it has placed its armed forces on high alert after China imposed extensive air restrictions off its eastern coast.
The Taiwanese Ministry of Defense stated that the Chinese military imposed seven restricted air zones in the Zhejiang and Fujian regions, which are located off Taiwan, with the restrictions set to last from Monday until Wednesday.
In response to these developments, Taiwan participated in combat readiness drills in light of the Chinese threats. These actions come after a Pacific tour by Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te, which was strongly criticized by Beijing.
