Police raid South Korean president’s office.

South Korean police announced on Wednesday that they had raided the office of President Yoon Suk-yeol in connection with his declaration of martial law on 3 December.

Meanwhile, prison authorities confirmed that former defence minister Kim Yong-hyun had attempted suicide after being arrested in connection with the case.

The special investigation team conducted a search at the presidential office, the National Police Agency, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency and the National Assembly Security Bureau,” police said in a statement seen by AFP.

Parliament is scheduled to hold a session today (Wednesday) to introduce a bill to impeach Yul, which requires a two-thirds majority in parliament to pass, after which the Constitutional Court will discuss the case and decide whether to remove the president from office, the agency said.
