The annual Central Economic Work Conference concluded in Beijing today (Thursday), where Chinese leaders discussed the country’s economic priorities for 2025. President Xi Jinping delivered a significant speech during the conference, reviewing the economic performance of 2024, analyzing the current situation, and outlining plans for the coming year.
The conference noted that China’s economy showed stable performance in 2024, alongside progress in high-quality development and the successful achievement of annual economic and social development goals. It also highlighted that policies implemented in late September boosted social confidence and contributed to a notable economic recovery.
Despite external challenges and domestic difficulties, the conference emphasized that the foundations for the long-term healthy development of China’s economy remain unchanged. It called for strengthened confidence and determined efforts to turn positive factors into tangible achievements in development.
