A Qatari delegation is expected to travel to Syria on Sunday to meet officials in the transitional government that took over the country after the fall of President Bashar al-Assad, a Qatari diplomat told AFP on Friday.

The visit of the first Qatari delegation to Syria is expected to take place on Sunday, where they will take the necessary steps to reopen the embassy and discuss increasing the delivery of aid,’ the diplomat said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
