The leader of the ruling party in South Korea, Han Dong-hon, resigned today, Monday, two days after the parliament approved a proposal to impeach President Yoon Suk-yeol for imposing martial law that lasted only briefly.

In related news, South Korean authorities announced that they would request the impeached president, Yoon Suk-yeol, to appear for questioning this week regarding the martial law decree.

The parliament had impeached him on Saturday, and his powers will remain suspended until the Constitutional Court decides on his fate.
