Ronaldo Nazário da Lima to run for Brazilian Football Confederation presidency

Former Brazilian star Ronaldo Nazário da Lima,, announced on Tuesday his intention to run for the presidency of his country’s football federation in the 2026 elections, succeeding current president Ednaldo Rodrigues.

, who won the World Cup with Brazil in 1994 and 2002, told Globo Esporte: “Among the hundreds of things that motivate me to run for the presidency of the Brazilian Football Confederation, I want to restore the prestige and respect that the Brazilian national team has always enjoyed.

To officially stand, Ronaldo will need the support of at least four clubs and four state federations, and the former forward has confirmed that he will be travelling around Brazil in search of “partnerships” for his campaign.
