The annual Shanghai-Taipei 2024 Cities Forum opened in Taipei on Tuesday with the signing of memoranda of understanding on smart healthcare and red panda exchange and protection.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Shanghai Vice Mayor Hua Yuan said the theme of this year’s edition, ‘Smart Governance, Sustainable Future’, reflects the eagerness of the residents of both cities for integrated development and their expectations for the future of urban growth.
He expressed his hope that the two cities will use this forum as an opportunity to deepen practical cooperation in areas such as transport, water management, healthcare and the environment.
