The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has released its latest world rankings for December 2024, showcasing notable changes among the top 10 teams globally and within the Arab world. Argentina retained its position at the top of the rankings, solidifying its status as the world’s best team following a stellar year of international matches. France held on to second place, while Spain climbed to third, surpassing England, which dropped to fourth.

Brazil maintained its fifth position, continuing its consistent performance. Meanwhile, Belgium climbed two spots to sixth, overtaking Portugal, which slipped to seventh. The Netherlands dropped to eighth, and Italy stayed in ninth place. Colombia returned to the top 10 after a strong showing, pushing Germany out of the elite group to 11th place.

Arab Teams:
Among Arab nations, Morocco remained the highest-ranked team, securing 14th place globally with 1,688.18 points. The Atlas Lions have shown remarkable consistency, earning recognition as a rising powerhouse in international football.
Algeria followed as the second-best Arab team, ranked 29th worldwide. Egypt secured the third spot among Arab nations and 33rd globally with 1,513.48 points.
Tunisia ranked fourth in the Arab world and 52nd globally with 1,464.42 points. Saudi Arabia took fifth place among Arab teams and 57th globally, while Qatar came in sixth at 60th in the world rankings.

Other Highlights:
On the African front, Senegal maintained its position as the top African team, ranking 17th globally. Colombia, bolstered by recent positive results, broke into the top 10, marking a significant achievement for the South American side.

This FIFA ranking reflects performances in international matches and comes as teams prepare for major tournaments in 2025, including the Africa Cup of Nations and the AFC Asian Cup. FIFA’s ranking system evaluates results based on a weighted formula that considers the importance and outcomes of recent matches.
