The Swedish government has announced the suspension of its aid to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), indicating its desire to support the residents of Gaza through other means.

A statement issued by the agency noted that Stockholm will double its targeted support for the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and the region to 800 million Swedish kronor, approximately 70 million dollars, during 2025.

The funds will be allocated to other UN organizations, such as the World Food Program and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
