38 dead and more than 100 missing after passenger ferry sinks in Congo

Thirty-eight people have been confirmed dead and more than 100 are still missing after an overloaded ferry capsized in the Democratic Republic of Congo late on Friday night, local officials and witnesses said.

Twenty people have so far been confirmed rescued.

The boat was travelling down the Buresa River in northeastern Congo as part of a convoy of other vessels.
