Harbin City opened the Snow and Ice World, the largest amusement park of its kind in China, on Saturday morning.

The park is located in Harbin, the capital of Northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province.

Themed ‘Winter Dream, Love between Asia’, the park has been built using 300,000 cubic metres of ice and snow and features elements inspired by the upcoming Harbin 2025 Asian Winter Games, which will open in February next year, right after China’s Spring Festival holiday. It is also the first major international ice and snow event to be hosted by China since the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

With a total planned area of one million square metres, up from 800,000 square metres last year, this year’s park is the largest in its 26-year history.
