The Syrian military operations command has announced a curfew in the provinces of Latakia and Homs after protests erupted in response to killings targeting members of the Alawite community.
The curfew hours in Latakia have been set from 8 PM to 8 AM, while in Homs, it will be from 6 PM to 8 AM.
Security operations have begun in Homs against elements of the former regime involved in shooting at civilians.
Latakia and Jableh witnessed large-scale protests following attacks on the shrine of Al-Hussein bin Hamdan Al-Khusseibi in Aleppo.
