Foreign ministers from 21 Arab and Muslim-majority countries have issued a joint statement calling for an immediate end to Israeli military actions against Iran, warning that the escalating conflict poses serious risks to regional security and stability.
The statement, initiated by Egypt, follows diplomatic consultations led by Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty with counterparts across the region. It underscores the urgent need to de-escalate tensions and work toward a comprehensive ceasefire.
Signatories of the statement include the foreign ministers of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Bahrain, Brunei, Turkey, Chad, The Gambia, Algeria, Comoros, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Somalia, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya, Mauritania, and Egypt.
The ministers condemned Israel’s military operations against Iran, which began at dawn on June 13, as violations of international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter. The statement emphasized the importance of respecting national sovereignty and avoiding the use of force to resolve disputes.
The joint declaration reflects growing concern among regional powers about the potential for broader conflict, amid ongoing hostilities between Israel and Iran.
