22 Killed in Angola During Violent Protests Against Fuel Price Hike

Twenty-two people were killed and 197 others injured in violent protests in Angola following a government decision to raise diesel fuel prices by one-third.

The unrest erupted after a strike called by transport unions, which included looting, vandalism, and the arrest of more than 1,200 people.

The government stated that the measure aims to reduce fuel subsidies and improve the country’s financial situation.
