Indian police reported on Monday that a bus carrying Indian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia was involved in a tragic accident, killing 45 people.

V.C. Saganar, Director General of Police in Hyderabad, described the incident as “extremely painful,” according to AFP.

He added that preliminary information indicates 46 passengers were on board at the time of the crash, and tragically, only one person survived.
