The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported on Saturday that 59 people were killed in the past 24 hours as Israeli military operations continue across the besieged enclave. Among the victims were nine bodies recovered from under the rubble.
The ministry also recorded 208 new injuries during the same period, bringing the total death toll in Gaza since October 7, 2023, to 57,882, with 138,095 others wounded.
As the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) issued a stark warning about the severe public health risks in Gaza. The agency cited the lack of access to clean water, overcrowded shelters, and soaring temperatures as major concerns.
UNRWA called for the immediate lifting of restrictions to allow the entry of essential humanitarian aid, including hygiene supplies, to avert a deepening health crisis in the territory.
